Founded in 1878, Everton Football Club is a professional football club in Liverpool, England and it competes in the Premier League, one of the big five top leagues in Europe. Although Everton missed the top division in 1930-31 season and three successive seasons from the 1951-52 season, it currently has become stronger and stronger. The club won nine championships of Premier League, five FA Cups and UEFA Cup Winners’ Cup. Everton has a most widely recognized nickname “The Toffees” or “The Toffeemen”, which came about after Everton had moved to Goodison, the home stadium of the club. The stadium is one of the oldest stadiums in England and is called Grand Old Lady.
The 2017-18 home shirts that were designed and manufactured by Umbro had been unveiled jointly by Everton and Umbro. Most noticeably, there is a white and small footballer at the back of the collar in memory of the great player Dixie Dean who created a record of a total of amazing 383 goals and 60 goals in one season when he played for Everton at Goodison.
Dixie Dean(1970.1.22-1980.3.1) was a former British footballer. He was a big fan of Everton and his dream of playing for the club came true at the age of 18. He performed perfectly with 32 goals in his debut. In 1927-28 season, it was his 60 goals that made the team win the League Championship, which made him the top scorer in the history of England football. The record that no other players could break was a wonder. Besides, Dean played for England national team. He appeared 16 times and scored 18 goals for his country.
